LG V40 ThinQ Update Focuses On Camera Improvements

In Short: We’ve just received a new update for the LG V40 ThinQ, and it’s completely focused on the phone’s camera. This update’s version is V09a-OCT-05-2018, and it weighs 173.45MB. If you take a look at the image provided down below, you’ll be able to see the full changelog. As you can see, this update brings various improvements to the camera, including improvements to: low light image quality, low light HDR, AI Camera Image Quality, White Balance and Brightness in outdoor conditions, and Auto Focus performance. That is pretty much all the info that the company shared. This update arrived to our unit OTA (over-the-air), and it’s a regular system update, as you can see.

Background: LG had introduced the LG V40 ThinQ quite recently as its brand new flagship offering. The device does sport a notch at the top of the display, but that notch is not as large as on some other phones, like the upcoming Pixel 3 XL, for example. The LG V40 ThinQ is made out of metal and glass, and the device actually comes with five cameras, three on the back, and two on the front. A rear-facing fingerprint scanner is also included on the phone, while the device comes with high-end specs, of course. The LG V40 ThinQ features a 6.4-inch QHD+ P-OLED display, while it also includes 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. This phone is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, while it also comes with MIL-STD-810G certification. Two 12-megapixel cameras, and a single 16-megapixel camera are located on the back of this phone, while the device includes a 3,300mAh battery. Impact: The LG V40 ThinQ actually has a solid camera out of the box, and this update will probably only improve things, and improvements are always welcomed. LG actually included really capable sensors in the device, and in combination with the company’s software, the LG V40 ThinQ makes for quite a capable camera smartphone.
