Montblanc Summit 2 Debuts With Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 3100 Chipset

Luxury watchmaker Montblanc recently unveiled its latest smartwatch, the Montblanc Summit 2. This device is the first product to sport the latest smartwatch chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC. This SoC allows the wearable to offer extended battery life due to the inclusion of the low-power co-processor. Montblanc claims that the Summit 2 can offer up to a week of use when it is set to the Time-Only mode and up to a full day of battery life when using the smartwatch’s color ambient mode, a feature which shows the device’s watch faces all the time.

Aside from the latest hardware, the Montblanc Summit 2 also offers a variety of useful software features. One of these features is the Timeshifter app, which provides tips on minimizing the impact of jet lags. Montblanc claims that the suggestions offered by the application, which include caffeine intake advice and sleeping and light exposure schedules, are based on evidence-based neuroscience. Meanwhile, the Travel Info app offers relevant information about the place that the user is going to. For example, people may learn about the currency exchange rates, taxi fares, and basic words and phrases that the traveler may use in their journey through the app. The Montblanc Running Coach app measures the fitness of the user based on VO2 Max, which is the maximum amount of oxygen that a person uses during exercise. The app also includes a watch face that displays the current fitness level and the heart rate of the user.

The Montblanc Summit 2 runs Wear OS by Google, and it also comes with the Google Assistant. The wearable supports Google Pay and it also offers over a thousand different watch face combinations and 11 different interchangeable strap options. The Summit 2 comes with a unisex 42-millimeter case and a 5 ATM water resistance rating, which means that it can survive being submerged under 50 meters of water for a short period of time. The wearable also includes 8GB of internal storage for applications and music. The Summit 2 is now available with a price tag of $995 although the Titanium Sport and Milanese editions of the luxury smartwatch costs $1,095 and $1,230 respectively.
