The OnePlus Nord N10 5G is coming to the US, and it'll cost less than $400.
This is according to a new report from Android Central. The specs of the OnePlus Nord N10 5G are pretty much what we have already seen, from previous leaks.
High refresh rate and 128GB of storage
The OnePlus Nord N10 5G is going to sport a 6.49-inch FHD+ display, with a 90Hz refresh rate. That is pretty rare for a smartphone of this price in the US.
Internally, you'll find the Snapdragon 690 chipset, which is said to offer a 25% increase in performance over the Snapdragon 675. It has the Snapdragon X51 5G modem inside, with 5G connectivity globally.
There is also 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage available inside the OnePlus Nord N10 5G.
The rest of the specs for the OnePlus Nord N10 5G include a 64-megapixel main sensor on the back. Along with a 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and then two 2-megapixel auxiliary sensors. You can pretty much bet that those will be depth and macro sensors.
The OnePlus Nord N10 5G doesn't have a specific release date just yet. But according to the report, it's going to be shortly after the OnePlus 8T. Which we still have no idea when that is going to launch.
This is going to be an even cheaper smartphone than the OnePlus Nord. And it's said to cost under $400. OnePlus is also going to be releasing an entry-level option later this year, and that one will be priced around $200.
Why is OnePlus targeting the mid-range market?
OnePlus used to only put out high-end smartphones. But this year, it started to look towards the mid-range and soon the budget market. But the question is why?
Well as is the answer to any question about why a company does something – money.
OnePlus sees how popular these cheaper smartphones are for companies like Motorola, LG and Samsung. And it wants in on it. Especially now that its flagship smartphone is in the $800 range. It needs something cheaper, so it can keep growing its brand. That's where the OnePlus Nord line comes in.
The OnePlus Nord launched earlier this summer. It launched for around $500. And now it is looking to target the under $400 and under $200 price ranges as well with newer Nord models. Margins are likely slim here, but OnePlus will be able to get a larger market share out of the Nord by selling phones this cheap.
